Singapore is set to become the first country in the world to ban advertisements on sugary drinks
While it’s true that eating large amounts of added sugar may increase your risk of diabetes, sugar intake is just one piece of the health puzzle.
Diabetes is complex disease caused by genes and lifestyle choices.
Type 2 diabetes is complex, and sugar is unlikely to be the only reason the condition develops
In my opinion "War on diabetes" sounds scary. War means someone will get hurt. A positive message would be "Stay grounded, be in control."
Risk factors that you cannot change

Risk factors that you can change

🔑 Switch off your diabetic gene . Adopt the 4 pillars of health
Negative message - Diabetes means no sugar intake.
Not true! You can enjoy occasional treats
Will the ban on advertisements help to reduce sugar intake?
With great difficulty as the ban has to battle with the brain.
Why are fizzy drinks so popular?
😋 Sugar. The brain loves sweet taste I hand it to the manufacturers for coming out with a product that gives the emotion of drinking it such a pleasurable activity.
😋 The bubbles burst on taste buds to give a tingle. It feels so good!
😋 Caffeine is a stimulant.
The above stimulate the reward centres in the brain and it gives the feel good factor.
It will need discipline and a strong will power to change to water.
I too have a fizzy cola but it is not a daily affair.
