It is a happy feeling knowing that I am going home today!
I was told upon arrival that I will check out at 12 noon after 14 days
The checkout had to be staggered as a safety precaution
I experienced this Stay Home Notice first hand and I have many people to thank
Singapore Airlines (SQ) for offering me a flight home in case I could not rebook with British Airways (BA)
The cheerful cabin crew of BA who made the 14 hour flight less stressful
The officers of Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and SATS police at the airport. These officers deserved accolades as they report for duty daily although they are at risk of the disease
The hotel staff of Studio M who were exemplary in their duties
While in London I tuned in to press conference daily and I have Minister Lawrence Wong to thank for. His reassurance for me so far away was comforting. It was an anxious 2 weeks for me. I shall never take anything for granted again
London was a hot spot. I had travel insurance but taking up a hospital bed in the National Health Service (NHS) was not an option for me. The NHS needed it for their own British patients
As I left the hotel at 4pm I saw a food delivery truck at unloading bay
Our Government has thrown a lifeline to industry so that workers can still put food on the table for their families
The hotel was comfortable and the food was good
It was a strange experience throughout the 14 days. What a relief for me that I did not import the virus
Truly grateful for all the measures taken to make me protected and safe 👍
As I looked out of window one last time I had plenty of hope

The Singapore River is our nation’s lifeline. I remember a line from the poet Alfred Lord Tennyson
“For men may come and men may go but I go on forever.”
We have to flow like the Singapore river. Right now we have setbacks from this crisis but we will bounce back with our resilience. I am sure of it!

Our robust health system must have played a part to keep the death rate for Singapore low
Our access to health care helps us to maintain good general health
Louisaz says the number of deaths is not a statistic it is a tragedy!
